The Sheryl Crow Birthday Drive was started in 2001 by members of the sherylcrow.com Fan Forum as a way to celebrate her birthday on February 11. Since then, Sheryl’s fans from around the world have donated over $350,000 to the Delta Children’s Home in her hometown of Kennett, Missouri. Her fans’ kindness and generosity have helped many, many children at a time when they needed help the most.
The Birthday Drive also honors the immense work and care Gregg Dempsey and Jim Baker gave to the DCH. Gregg was the Fan Forum moderator who helped Sheryl’s fans start the Drive in 2001. We’ve had a big hole in our hearts since we lost Gregg in 2016. Gregg always told supporters, “No gift is too small when it comes from the heart” and we miss him. Jim Baker, a long-time friend of the Crow family (and bandmate of Sheryl’s dad), was the powerhouse behind the Drive since its inception. He was “larger than life” and the Drive was one of his life’s passions – the Drive is as much about Jim as it is a celebration of Sheryl’s birthday. Jim also passed in 2022, and he will be sorely missed by the DCH and everyone who has participated in the Drive.

For 2024, we will be giving away a brand new, US made, Fender American Ultra Telecaster in Arctic Pearl (with hard shell Fender case) on Sheryl’s birthday. The drawing will be around February 11th and Sheryl will sign/dedicate the guitar to the winner. Every $5.00 donation will be a chance to win the guitar and other prizes (prize winners will still be eligible to win the signed guitar).
